Jimmy Greene’s six year old daughter, Ana, was one of the many young lives tragically cut short at the hands of the deranged shooter in the Newtown school killings. Everyone in the world is familiar with how his beautiful daughter passed and so Jimmy has made it his mission to share with the world how she lived – loving unconditionally and bringing smiles and happiness to all those she came across.
Greene, an internationally recognized jazz saxophonist, composer and bandleader, is creating an album entitled “Beautiful Life”, inspired by and dedicated to his daughter; it is slated to be released before the end of this year.
Ana was the type of sweet child to leave her parents loving notes around the house and sense when someone needed a little extra kindness in their day, taking it upon herself to give out hugs to cheer others up.
Greene will highlight his daughter’s love of singing and dancing by including her singing the hymn “Come Thou Almighty King” while her brother plays on the piano and her former classmates from Canada, where the family lived for a few years, sing backup while Greene sings of one day joining her in heaven.
Proceeds from the album will go to the Ana Grace Project, which aims to prevent violence and The Artists Collective, which works to expose children to the arts.
