Africa’s Best Honored in NYC at FACE Awards

Face2face Africa, a premiere pan-African media company, will launch its three-day annual Pan-African Weekend (F2FA) in NYC from July 25-27. The F2FA weekend is an extension of their premier African annual F.A.C.E. List Awards, where leaders who have made a substantial impact in the Pan-African community are recognized for their achievements.

Friday’s kickoff event is the Young Africans Committed to Excellence (YACE) Generation NeXt Master Class, where some of Africa’s most promising young talent will be honored. Awardees will share their inspirational stories and their visions for Africa. This will be followed by a networking reception.

On Saturday, July 26, the F.A.C.E. List Awards will be hosted at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University. Business mogul Dr. Mo Ibrahim, fashion icon Alek Wek, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti, entrepreneur Bethlehem Alemu and general manager of the Toronto Raptors Masai Ujiri will be honored for their outstanding contributions and impact on Africans worldwide. The star-studded red carpet event will feature top African performing acts to entertain attendees.

Sunday, July 27, will feature a Jazz Brunch to close out the weekend’s festivities. The brunch will provide an intimate setting for honorees, speakers, special guests and the individuals who produced the event to mingle and interact.
