RLJ Entertainment, Inc. announced the launch of UMC, Urban Movie Channel, which will feature “urbanesque” (AKA…black) movies across all genres, including documentaries, comedies and thrillers.
Created by BET Founder, Robert L. Johnson, the channel aims to provide the urban community (AKA…black people) with a direct vessel of connecting with some of their favorite content. With the continual uptake in digital content consumption, this is prime time for a channel of this sort to address this often underserved, yet biggest consumer demographic.
