How to Get Away With Murder Kills DVR Records

The new ABC drama, How to Get Away with Murder, which debuted last Thursday, has actually done just that as it killed all former DVR records in history. It hit airwaves to the tune of TWENTY MILLION viewers within three days of time-shifting (actual day it aired and three following days).

The second hit straight out of Shondaland, which actually follows its big sister, Scandal, is now number one in viewership for new series among the 18-49 demographic. The only show to post higher ratings within a three day span is now the current reigning champ of the past few years, The Big Bang Theory.

This is great news for ABC, which is the only one of the “Big Four” networks to have a high ranking show other than sports. We’re excited to see how well Shonda’s latest hit continues to do and we hope other networks realize the power of the black actress and viewership, and stops casting us as just extras or supporting actors (insert multiple side eyes here).

Make sure you tune in this Thursday night at 9 and 10PM EST for our two girls!
