KSU President Takes $90k Pay Cut to Increase Wages of School Employees

Raymond Burse, the interim president of Kentucky State University, has already left a permanent mark on the institution through his recent selfless act of compassion and leadership.

Burse has chosen to forgo $90,000 of his $350,000 salary in order to increase the pay of minimum wage employees from $7.25/hr to $10.25/hr.

The move was approved immediately by the school’s board and Burse has already vowed to take further salary cuts when new minimum wage workers are hired by KSU to ensure they too can start at the rate of $10.25/hr.

This is a great example of how a leader sacrifices for the greater good. Now if only we can get other wealthy individuals in positions of power to do the same, the world would be a better place.
