In recent years, the food truck industry has grown tremendously. Between 2007 and 2012, the number of trucks and revenue has more than doubled. As a matter of fact, recent reports place the 2017 revenue of food trucks at over $2 BILLION! With quick food preparation, ease of relocation and much lower start-up and maintenance costs than their traditional restaurant counterparts, food trucks have mad a name for themselves and shown they are not just a fad.
Another big development has been the addition of gourmet food items to the menus of many of these trucks. Meet Columbia, South Carolina natives and best friends Ramone Dickerson and Corey Simmons, owners of the mouth watering and one of a kind food truck, 2 Fat 2 Fly.
No that name isn’t indicative of how you’ll feel after eating their food (although I’m sure it’s possible) but represents their offering of STUFFED WINGS, the only truck to make these ANYWHERE. The lifelong friends have found a way to improve on the beloved chicken wing by finding a way to stuff them with wonderful things such as jambalaya, macaroni and cheese and other gifts from heaven.
Their wings have gained such popularity that Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network will be documenting their story and following them on their road to success in their new show, Wingmen.
The self made and self taught duo have big dreams and hope to get their wings into the biggest retailers and capitalize on their potential million dollar idea. The show will premier on Saturday, August 16th at 10pm ET/PT.
I am booking my ticket now for South Carolina JUST to find these men and eat everything in their truck.
