We already know that 2015 was a great year to be Michael Jordan, as he became one of the newest members of the billionaires club, with his accomplishments on and off the court over the past few decades allowing him to amass his insanely sizable fortune.
Between what he brought in from endorsement deals and all you folks who love camping outside of Footlockers and forcing people to take your money for the same sneakers that came out 10 years ago, MJ made about $100 million this year alone. No other athlete, playing or retired, makes that much in endorsement deals and only two other athletes are paid more than him in the world – Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Let’s keep in mind MJ is 52 years young and hasn’t touched a basketball in over 12 years.
Throughout his illustrious 14 year NBA career, Jordan earned around $94 million. Yes, that’s $6 million less than he earned in JUST this year.
Let this be a lesson in the effects that not only athleticism, but sound business decisions and intellect can have on one’s future.
