Mo’Ne Davis Becomes First Little Leaguer to Land Sports Illustrated Cover

The Little League “Queen of Pitching” is continuing her reign of dominance by adorning the cover of the most recent issue of Sports Illustrated.

The 13 year old Philadelphia native, whose 70 mph pitches are comparable to those in the low 90 mph in the MLB, continues to defy the odds as she is not only the 17th girl to play in the World Series, but is one of few females who even make the cover of the illustrious magazine unless they are scantily clad in strings that are meant to serve as a swimsuit.

Mo’Ne first grabbed the spotlight when she threw a shutout game to lead her team, The Taney Dragons, to the Little League World Series, where she then went on to become the first girl to throw a shutout in Little League World Series history.

Today, she looks to continue her streak against Las Vegas. The winner of the game will play on Saturday for the US Championship and the winner of that game will play the international winner for the World Series title.

We’re rooting for you Mo’Ne!
