Now that summer is coming to an end and the beautiful sunny beach days you were JUST enjoying are being replaced with the reality of hibernation, freezing temperatures and eternal darkness, you may be starting to daydream about the next time you’ll be able to lay out and work on your tan while sipping on something that makes you forget how much you hate your job.
If you are seriously considering packing up and taking a vacation this holiday season (think Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or any time from November to February), now is the perfect time to start taking action by deciding on a destination and buying your ticket.
Many individuals are not yet concerning themselves with travel for the upcoming season, so there are still many flights available and at decent prices. In the next few weeks as our culture of procrastination prevails, people will start to scramble for their last minute tickets back home to family or far away from their annoying loved ones, and seats will become scares, causing prices to increase as much as $300 or more.
As a point of reference, for domestic flights, four to eight weeks in advance is the best time to purchase your ticket at the lowest price point. For international flights, around eight to 12 weeks in advance is your optimal time span.
