The usual average employee of Wall Street has a very straightforward look; white, 25-50 year old male in a well-tailored quality expensive black or grey suit, a trophy wife, spoiled kids in the best schools a dog that lives better than most humans and on and on.
Suzanne Shank is the exception to that rule. This 52 year old gorgeous black woman is a breath of fresh air among a sea of uniformity.
In 2014, she became THE FIRST black woman to head a publicly traded financial services institution when she was promoted to CEO of investment bank Siebert Financial Corporation.
But wait…there’s more.
Suzanne is also the CEO of Siebert Brandford Shank & Co., which has specialized in municipal underwriting and financial advisory services to the tune of $12. trillion over the past 19 years. She manages to split her time between running both of these highly successful businesses, all while managing to look FLAWLESS.
As can be expected, her resume is nothing but brag worthy, with an MBA in Finance from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (that basically means she can run billion dollar companies AND design highways and bridges).
In addition to racking up all these accomplishments and handling what must be the busiest of schedules, Suzanne finds time to give back to the community, mentoring inner city youth across the country on financial literacy and overcoming the obstacles to success that many of them will soon face while on their career paths.
We need more women like Suzanne, a prime example of the possibilities you can create for yourself with the right focus and direction.
