The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is finally trying to help us stop getting arrested for just trying to see our favorite new movies for free (seriously…go catch a killer).
Recently, the MPAA release the new website, Where to Watch, that basically serves as the Google for legally available online content.
To be honest, it still doesn’t quite beat just going to your favorite illegal website and streaming the least blurry version of your movie, but it is a step in the right direction. You simply type in the name or associated keywords of your favorite show and the site provides you with links to buy the season/episode via Amazon or Vudu, or use a streaming service like Netflix.
This probably won’t really make too much of a dent in the illegal streaming of movies and until there’s some type of substitute, like being able to watch new movies online for half the price of the theatre and in HD quality, you can bet that bootleggers will still rule the movie black market.
